Rise of the Obyriths
A girl adventurer?
From the age of sixteen to nineteen Devi worked in the local Poshen tavern (known as The Posy) as a barmaid to earn an income and support the family. Her older brother Sam, the bar tender there, secured her the position while she continued to study in her free time. After witnessing the debauchery nightly, Devi swore to never touch alcohol, and as a result thinks that she is just a little bit better than everyone else. One night, a love crazed Sorcerer scorned by Sam named Bantius entered, determined to kill Devi’s brother. Bantius went berserk and proceeded to kill every patron in the bar. In the process of the fight, Bantius petrified Sam and turned on Devi to do the same. Severely injured and acting on animal instinct, Devi pulled out the pocket knife she has carried since birth. Upon seeing the symbol carved into the blade, Bantius repelled in fear and vanished into thin air. Devi, the only survivor, was further scorned by her other brother Wil and became more of an outcast in her hometown than ever before. Bantius’s reaction to the knife has haunted Devi and led her to pursue the man present at her birth, hoping to decipher the mysterious symbol. Along the way Devi wants nothing more than to meet Bantius again and kill her. She left home, only telling her father her plan, and has not been seen there for over a year. The town is happier and hopes she never comes back.
